Top 5 things I am grateful for

Things to celebrate and thank God for. Here  are some of them: 

1) Very able parents. They are still so energetic and able even in their mid-60s. They are financially secure, worry-less, and illness-free as they enjoy their golden age together. Not many of you may know that they are self-made academicians. They self-financed their post-graduate education to become titled professionals. They raised 3 children even with just modest income. I sincerely hope I can make at least half of what they accomplished, and that in itself is already an accomplishment. 

2) Chance to be called a wife and a mom. Family life is worth every investment. It is where I make my utmost contribution, and nowhere else comes close. I sincerely pray for God's grace to grant me the covering to become a selfless family woman in the years to come.  

3) Wellness. I am proud to have turned my health numbers around, and grateful for the opportunity to infect others to likewise make the long-term decision for wellness. I have become less anxious and more confident since I made health a priority. 

4) Time. I have been devastated and shaken the past months. Four of my friends left this world and their families behind in quick succession. All 4 deaths happened in less than 3 months. Two of those who died were my age, the other was only 4 years my senior, and the other was 2 years shy of his 50th birthday.

This series of events made me reassess what are really life's essentials, and how I would want to spend the time God has in store for me. As though God is telling me in the face, "Live and trust in Me. Everything is secured. You can enjoy and rest in my love." This is why I am choosing positivity over toxicity, love over hate, peace over worry from today onwards.

5) God's provision.  I am thankful that God has been faithful in providing our needs. And for many times, he has given way beyond. Had I relied on my own, I could be in debts and financial mess long before. But he never fails to deliver.
